  • Understand the different types of responsibilities: Understand three broad categories to start with and the different levels of effort these involve -

  3. Mental load of remembering, planning & coordinating



  • Identify and discuss with your family: To start with, have an open discussion on who shares the burden of what in the family in relation to household management It's  helpful to keep the discussion open & non-accusatory in nature


  • Divide the burden of the invisible labour (mental load): Mental load refers to the invisible labor involved in managing a home & family.


  • Put it down on paper: Make a list of the key things that need to be done 


  • Initiative & consistency is key: Remember that changing things take time, effort and routine but be a standup person who genuinely wants to bring about change
